Range Report XD .45 Tactical

Ok, so first time shooting a striker fired pistol. Interesting, not at all too different than anything else. I noticed the trigger getting hot though, is this normal? I don't remember that happening on my 1911s or Beretta. Anyway, this might be interesting for y'all, please tell me what you think. At 50 yards, combat style grip, (thumbs pointed downrange etc) my grouping was all over the place; 4in here, 2in there, hit the target each time, bad guy would be dead no doubt. But at one point, I closed my left eye, rested my elbows on the table, aimed for the head and the shots went straight left. Not left and down, not left and up, straight left. So I said ok, let me aim to the right of the target to hit the head...wtf moment as you can see by the photo...all the shots went...to the right of the target. Then I tried body shots that way...went to the right of the target. Again..wtf?!? So I went back to combat style, aiming down front site with both eyes open, blurry target, body shots at wild groupings again. Basically anything in the green I had both eyes open. Any thoughts?
