It sound like the Fed ammo was working so I would just get he same bullet weight. I have never used aguila and where I shoot it doesn't have a very good rep. A lot of winchester white box ammo gets used as well American Eagle which is federal so it is usually ok.
I only shoot lead in my xd and make my on bullet lube and it is gooey and dirty. I have purposely ran 2500 rounds through my gun before with out cleaning. I have never removed the striker or cleaned its channel out. I also have never had a phase one striker problem or any other problem. That was over 1500 rounds ago and it has been cleaned many times since and before my mini torture test and have no problems with dirt and goo being where it shouldn't. So 600rounds of jacketed ammo if dirty jacketed is pretty clean compared to what I shoot. So a goo problem highly unlikely imo. Good luck

Sounds like maybe you just got a bad batch of Aguila. Glad to hear you found somebody to take it off your hands. In my opinion, testing different rounds to see what your gun (and you) like is all part of the process.
