Or a simpler possibility might be too much lub or too heavy lub on the slide rails - could slow down the action.
Accurately lubricated meaning not completely dry, which would explain my problem due to friction. I know not to lub up the firing channel but to clean the "surface of the firing pin(?please correct me and tell me what it's called?)"
I also plan on trying the Federal tomorrow along with my ammo and see what the problem is. Im thinking it's me because the gunsmith fired the gun just fine but when I tried it would do what
I described. I'm doing everything the same that I always do I have a good firm stance and grip, like always.... Maybe me and this ammo are not meant to be together....

Buying 500 rds of ammo based on a recommendation from a friend to find out its not for me makes me sad it's like your wife packed your bags for your month long trip just to find that the clothes she packed didn't fit.... Disappointing and frustrating...

Well I hope the federal works out for you. If your stuck with the rest of the bulk ammo, you can always sell it on armslist.

Sunny there are two possible scenerios:
The first, which is what the gunsmith suggested, that you were limp- wristing, and not allowing the gun to do its job.
The second is; you may have overcompensated and were anticipating the recoil from the shot, and dropping the nose of the pistol causing you to shoot low.
So maintain a firm grip, and wrist, then don't anticipate the discharge. You should let it supprise you. If you do this you should be able to get rounds on the target.

If the problem only happens with this ammo, it must be the ammo. Get some more Federal and dump the other stuff on your friend who reccomended it.

I've also heard great things about Federal Munitions (not the sameFederal) and have a case coming today. Supposed to be good quality ammo at a great price.

Sorry. I meant to say Freedom Munitions. Just got my order. Off the the range

Yes?

If so, you have a VERY good chance that the striker channel is full of sh... well a gooey substance of combined oil and powder residue. As it gets more powder residue, it thickens until the striker has issues. Phase 1 issues are the striker return spring can't get the striker back so the "firing pin" sticks out and stops the round from feeding. By the time you look, the striker is back where it belongs and all you see is a fail to feed. Phase 2 is light strikes resulting in fail to fire.

My advise is to take out the striker, clean it and the channel with a q-tip. Spray the channel and striker with 5 LIGHT coats of 100% silicone spray and the NEVER OIL THE STRIKER again.

A less likely cause is dirt in the magazines. You did take them apart and push a kleenex through while at the range to eliminate that as a possibility, yes?
What would a the striker channel have to do with failures to feed or eject?
Failures to fire yes but not to feed or eject.

My bet would be on the ammo. If you shoot that much of Federal with no issues then switch to another brand and all of a sudden have issues? Start reloading. You have all of the control and its usually cheaper.

Gonna throw in a quick plug for Freedommunitions.com and Jackrossammo.com for their factory reeloads. I have gone with these two for all of my range ammo. I've NEVER had a FTF or FTE with either after over 1500 rounds of each. At 17 cents a round shipped, Jack Ross is the cheapest but they are also the slowest (6 weeks!)

I agree it can be frustrating to get a raw deal on ammo.
