XD(M) .40 Compact

Bought it 2 weeks ago, today was my first chance to get out to the range. First let me just say, what a great piece of machinery! I only had time to put 100 rounds through it, as I had my new shotgun to shoot and I was sharing my lane with my wife who was breaking in her new 642.

Right out of the box I was able to put the first 17 rounds in a grouping that was more then satisfying to me from 25 feet. At double that I was still keeping things nice and tidy. When I switched to the 13 round magazine it was pretty much the same at the shorter distance but I struggled a little more at 50, but still acceptable.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and in the short time I shot, found I liked it better, in both configurations, then my Glock 22 and 27. I can't wait to get back to the range, likely next weekend if not sooner.

I didn't even think to take pics of my groupings, not that it would matter, I completely destroyed the target with some 00 shot.

I know what you mean. It IS a great piece of machinery. I just put 950 (have one box left from 2 cases of ammo) rounds of winclean 180gr on tuesday during a tactical pistol course I was shooting at. Not a single problem. Runs like a hot knife trough butter. Mine is a 4.5 inch barrel though.

I also have good result with Winclean 165. Tried Remington UMC 180 this week and the shots just weren't as consistent, especially up and down. Still can't figure out why.
