Cheapest Steel Targets
i am trying to find the cheapest well made steal targets out there total price plus shipping, the reason im trying to find this is because my uncle has a all the gear to make them and is thinking about starting a internet company selling them. he has been working with steel for over 15 years and knows all he needs to know about thickness, type, size, ect. just trying to get a grip on the cheapest well made targets of each type. silhouette, small circle, big circle, gong, and animal shaped.
all i have seen are little 22 targets, he is talking about making em where they would easily take 40, 45, 357, 44 mag, 308, 30-06 ect...

Just google "Steel targets' "Steel poppers" etc. I made my own also. The prices are all over the place for the various makes, models, thickness, size etc. Fuel and steel costs as you are aware , are greatly impacting the costs. Let me know if you start up. SPECIAL PRICING FOR XD TALK FRIENDS I HOPE!!
S&H will be another issue with weight and size.
Good luck! Keep us posted.

most def, i will make sure that xdtalk members get a discount if we can get this going. The targets i have found on google are all rated for 22, so we haven't got a good sample. when we find a set price ours will be lower before shipping and of course we will offer local pick up!

I have an action target 6" armored steel "Evil Roy" target. It can take any rifle under 3000fps @ 100yds and any pistol round @ 10yds. Cost about $115 so not "cheap" but EXTREMELY well made.
Here is just the head plate (no stand) for $75
Action Target

this helps A LOT! ill take the info to my uncle and try to get this rolling, ill let yall know as soon as i do about the targets. i might make another thread or something seeing how many potential customers would want a target or two so i can come to him with a "hey X number of friends from a huge gun forum want to buy X number of targets" that way it might light a fire under him to get it started.

Quick question. I've been shooting at a steel plate angled at 45 degrees. Been working great so far. But steel plates. How far away should be to shoot at a flat plate?
