First off let me start by saying all of this is IMHO
I am by no means a great shot or a gun guru what I
am in an everyday guy who has a small passion for
shooting guns .What I did today was I took my XDm 40
and my Glock 23 to the range .I preformed the same
type of shots with both guns and then took pics for
you guys to comment on .I used everyday Winchester 40s&w
ammo in both guns all day long .I only have two mags
For the Glock and 3 for the XDm .So here is what I
found out in pics then I will explain what I noticed
My Two 40 cal's I should say besides the paint these two guns
are stock ...for now !
XDm 8 yards 1 hand right then left
Glock 8 yards 1 hand right then left
Xdm 8 yards 3 round pulls 2 handed
Glock 8 yards 3 round pulls 2 handed
XDm 8 yards slow pull 2 hands
Glock 8 yards slow pull 2 hands
Ok so there are the targets .I ran through 500 rounds today
trying to figure out which gun was better for me .I will say neither
gun had any FTF/FTE rounds ! I consider that alone a good day !
The Glock has a lot more flip and it shows in the single hand targets
but it was noticeable to me in the 3 round pull trials as well. Also all
day I was occasionally plagued with rounds flying at my glasses out of the Glock
now I have just purchased it and its a gen 3 but I have not checked the
number on the extractor to see if its the one that needs replaced .
Overall it didn't seem as bad as I have read about.I think maybe the reason
I like the XDm so much is the grip .It is superior over the Glock for sure.
I am thinking about shooting IDPA and I am thinking of unloading the Glock
and getting another XDm .Any advise on either front or any comments on the
way I tried to solve my questions is always welcome .
