Today was my first trip out with my new to me XD .45 compact 4".
Several things I noticed:
The .45 recoil was not bad at all. It was my first .45 extended shooting session (200+ rounds) with any .45. I was surprised how controllable the recoil was, it is much better than a .40 to me.
After shooting 9mm for several years, I realize how satisfying the big holes are in the target
The compact grip length was long enough (barely)
the service size mag with sleeve makes it slightly more comfortable to shoot.
I think this will make a good "all around" gun for carry, competition, and the range....something that I have been looking for.
.45 ammo is quite a bit more expensive. I'm glad I reload.
