XD Service 9 shooting to the right

I bought my XD9 a week or so and went to the range and while i shoot left handed it was grouping to the right of the center?? i was shooting out at 30 yards is this to much of a distance for a handgun?? i see most people shoot at around 7 to 10 yards, i didnt get to shoot any closer as the shooting range for handguns was occupied, and input would be appreciated.

Its hard to get an accurate group when you first shoot at more than 20 Feet. Especially if you are using it for defense. If its just for fun shoot at 30 yards, well I under stand if it was all you had to shoot at, but you need to shoot two or three hundred rounds at about 10 to 30 feet to get an accurate view of what your shooting. Move out from there. Let me know if this is helpful.

I had the same problem when I started shooting my XD9. My problem was purely fundamental mistakes. I second moving the target much closer to more realistic distances.

IMHO, any farther than 25 yards and you outta be holding a 12 gauge.

it takes time to shoot a new weapon well, you need to get the hang of it first, this always happens to me when I shoot a weapon I am not use to.
