Great day for shooting (pictures)

My wife, my dad and I went out about 9:30 this morning. We put about 120 rounds downrange. Overall, it wasn't too bad.

We used the *awesome* targets from this thread. All shots were from 4 yards with my .40 xdsc

My first 9 rounds - meh...not super happy with this, but it gets better.

My wife's first 12 rounds - yea, she did pretty good.

My dad hasn't shot in a *long* time, but he still didn't do too bad:

My 2nd magazine (12 rounds). I *think* I had a flyer with this one, but there's a little debate as to whether two rounds went through the same hole (just above the words "jerking or slapping the trigger" in that section).

My wife's 2nd magazine - I think she was rushing a bit because this sucks compared to her magazine:

My 3rd magazine - I did rush a bit on this set. The bullseye was the first shot.

My wife's 3rd magazine - she slowed down a bit and started focusing on her front site a bit more:

My dad's final magazine - he started to pull it together toward the end and said he wants to shoot more (possibly get his own gun too!):

My final magazine - not terribly happy with this one either, especially the two outside the circle. I know I rushed on those. I *did* really start to focus on the front site more *and* only allowed the trigger to reset instead of letting it go all the way forward:

Nice. Word of advice. Squeeze the trigger slowly to where the gun going off surprises you, pull straight back on the trigger and try not to move your other fingers.

Nice shooting from all of you!

I will say this though, don't worry about the bullseye. Concentrate on keeping all of your shots on the page. Bullseyes should be banned for anything other than bullseye competitions. Other than Target employees, nobody walks around with a bullseye on their chest. However, hitting an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper is a pretty accurate representation of center mass/combat effectiveness.

Again, nice job! And get Dad his gun.
