New XD40sc 2nd range trip.

Went to the local indoor range today. Went pretty well for new hand gun owner. I tried some Federal ammo from Walmart and some Remington UMCs.
Not the best groups at first but started to get better. I did have 2 FTF after the first hundred rounds with both types of ammo but re-cocked it and took off like a champ. I now have about 280 through the pipe and has been a great time. The people at the range are awesome and I can see it becoming my new favorite hangout.

It's always good to make friends with the folks at the range. The guys at my range have helped me out on more than one occasion. Whether it's cleaning tips or trying to decide gun/holster options. Kinda like talking to the XDTalkers here.

As for the new gun congrats. My XD40sc is still my favorite gun to shoot. I recommend a shooting course as well. My instructor had me shooting ten times better in the first ten minutes.

Yea thats down the road a bit, I want to get my CPL first. I have a few places to practice outside in the summer but I have spent enough this past week on the gun and the accessories, but it is the best form of therapy that I know of.

It will only get more expensive. With that being said I don't recommend a motorcycle either. An even more expensive form of therapy.

Holsters and ammo get a little pricey. Last time I bought 250 box of Remington at Academy it was $90 I think. And it's surprising how fast that box disappears.

I hear that, I went through 180 rounds in less than an hour. It was a good time and working on my aim, at first low and left and then I start to find my spot. But thats why we go to the range, right.

I put a lot of ammo low and left before an instructor corrected my grip.

I will ask the RO next time I go. But I am also using the pistol correction target trying to improve myself. It helps but not as much as sending the lead down the way.
