First Shots w/ my .40 3.8 Compact

So yesterday was my first time ever shooting my XDM. My brother in law and I went out in the desert with a mini arsenal of firearms including the XDM, a Norinco 1911, a .38s wheelgun, the Winchester 1300 12 ga., a modded SKS, and a Ruger 10/22.

No paper target shooting to test accuracy, just some basic plinking at stuff we brought with us (and yes, we packed it ALL out with us too). I was able to hit a few golf balls with the XDM from about 7 yards away, though - not too bad in my opinion. This was just to mainly get a feel for the gun and to have fun and relieve some stress.

Anyways, I LOVE this gun. It shoots sweet and is easy to stay on target. I fed over 100 rounds of cheap Federal 180g FMJs as well as a couple mags of 180g HSTs throught it with not one issue. I also thought that it would be awkward having my pinky hang off the end of the grip while shooting, but honestly I didn't even notice it. Next trip out I gotta take the wife out and try and warm her up to shooting a little more. All in all a great day.

Congrats! Love my XD40. Wish I could have gotten the XDm (darn kommiefornia), but honestly I can't complain much.

I also just got the same gun xdm .40 compact. Only shot it one time so far put 35 rounds of umc through it. Love how it shoots. Tried both mags and the pinky thing didn't bother me either. Looking forward to getting some more shooting time with it.
