This sort of thing actually makes me "teary". My dad unfortunately was kind of an A** and never did stuff like that with me. You sir are a great dad, and WOW is your kid well behaved and responsible for ANY age, let alone his young age. You are doing a great job with him, and I commend you for it!!!! Want another son??? LOL

I appreciate that very much. He's a great kid. My middle son (13) was the same way and is now extemely responsible with weapons. He's an avid hunter and very safety conscious. I'm a believer in getting them started early, seems to ease that curiosity about guns as they get older.
Again, than you for the compliment.

I brought my 10 yr old daughter to the range a couple of months ago. She's just a tiny little girl, all of 4' 1". She saw my Savage 22 rifle w/scope and she said "I have to shoot that!". Well, she did... and she is a SNIPER! Dime size groups at 50 yards.

My 13 yr old likes the Beretta Neos but practically pissed his pants when I let him shoot my .357 revolver. He really likes that one.

My other 2 kids came to the range with me a few weeks back. My college age daughter liked the .357 and was more comfortable with the 22... and my 16 year old took right to the 45.

All of them can clear a weapon safely, practice good trigger finger discipline and understand range commands. It is a great thing to be able to bring your kids and teach them gun safety. Helps break all the BS crap they hear from their libtard teachers.

Good job getting your son out there to shoot! It is something the two of you can do for years and years to come.

How cool. I think they keep it simple and we tend to overcomplicate things.
The 10/22 is great for kids. Mine love it too.

We went, but the 100 and 300 yard ranges were pretty full as deer season is coming ip and it was a beautiful day to sight in a rifle. So, we found one of the long pistol bays and broke out his little Bersa .22 pistol. He's real excited because there were about 30 bowling pins set up on a berm...he had a field day. He was doing so well I offered him my 1911 with a Kimber .22 kit slapped on. He did great. All smiles and very proud of himself.
By now, there were several guys watching him shoot. I was so proud of him since he was handling the weapons so well and being extremely safe. After I was sure nobody wanted to use the pistol bay (there are 12) we decided to get the rifles oout and shoot righ there. 3 hours went by in a flash. Could not think of a better way to spend a Saturday! I even gave up watching my beloved Alabama Crimson Tide since we were having so much fun.
Sorry for the long, wordy post. Just felt like sharing.

I'm so envious.
My wife and I had a great 'training" day yesterday. But, I really wished the kids were there.

My two (7 & 10) have lost interest in guns and shooting this year. (Target shooting is boring for them.) I really want them to "train" with us so they will have a better understanding of the importance of "awareness" and what to do in an emergency.

I really hope to generate interest in to go with us some. But, we're up against some AG brainwashing from school as well.

This is off topic:
But yesterday the school my kids used to attend went on lockdown because some libtard parent saw a hunter going into the woods next to school (private property where hunting is "completely" legal) and called the cops.

The SD had to spend a lot of money and resources to secure a very large perimeter and send deputies and a Game Warden to go find this guy in the woods and ruin his day. Liberals are so STUPID! (I hope she has to pay for making the county and state waste time and money.)
