Is ammo cheaper at gun shows than stores? Is most of it reloads? If it is reloads should I pass on buying it? To avoid squibs and Kablams.
I would like to get an extra magazine or two. How would I tell if they are worn out.
Is there any other way to inspect holsters other than visually? Seems like a obvious question, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.
Here in the Raleigh area, it has been my experience that most things are not any cheaper than what I can get at a local shop. There are the occasionally bargains to be found.

I stock-up on ammo when Dick's has it on sale, so I don't find the prices on ammo any better. As long as I can get factory practice ammo for the same price or better than reloads, I'll stick with the factory stuff. Squibs and Kablams can slip though the quality checks on the factory stuff, so it is no guarantee that one will never occur.

As to holsters, I simply take the gun I am buying a holster for with me to the show. That way I can test the fit, retention, and wearablility with the weapon it will actually be used with.

Dave, what's your experience been with C&E Shows? My dealer has told me they need to be run out of NC on a rail. I went to one last fall and found an unissued SKS for $175, so I picked it up. Other than that, I didn't really see any good deals.

Gunshows are not the deals they used to be. We have two sponser gun shows. At one of them a guy sells factory ammo for a really good deal. I usually buy a few cases and he sells out fast.

Normally I buy ammo, ammo cans maybe a holster. Most of the guns are over priced or POS you could do better online or local. It's kinda amazing as to the low numbers of firearms you see at the gunshows. Private party sales you can do pretty good.

That was classic! Solved my internal struggle of confusion most likely forever. Is it caliper or caliber?... and now I know. Thanks man for keeping me straight.

It dosen't matter if its metric or standard the device is still called a caliper. Just like the BRAKE CALIPERS on disc brakes.

Most gun shows now (not that I went to them before, Im to young) are full of regualr dealers. As a result many prices are not the best. I like to go just incase I come across a gem. Plus many go there to buy and sell private party.
