wow...

I tend to lurk on particular forums before joining to see what they are all about. I did the same on XD. Every once in a while, I'm just reading along, minding my own business and then a simple statement like this comes up and I about drop my laptop on the floor laughing. God, the imagery. I cannot stop chuckling...

For my XD-9 Sub Compact the casing envolope said 5/23/08 and a date of 9/29/08 ismarkrd in red ink on the label with the Serial Number and bar code w/Serial No. Sounds about right as that's about when I Bought the XD. Good information.

Turns out, the birthday of my first pistol (xd9 service bi-tone) was 9-10-2004. About right, since I bought it in the fall of 2004. I can't believe I haven't been celebrating this day!

I heard that the tip of the striker has been micro engraved with the guns serial number. This well inprint the number into the primer cup which can only be read with a electron microscope.

The date on my spent case reads Feb 9 2012, I purchased the pistol
in mid March. I guess mine didn't sit in a warehouse in Croatia for
very long.

I heard from a local Game Warden, and I do not know how accurate it is, that they log the bullets rifling into a database and then they screen the bullet and casing and from the powder and firing pin the forensics can dternie the model number and manufacturer the gun came from and who it is registered in.

But thank you for the info on when the gun was made. Found out it was in 2010.

^ Petty sure your local game warden has his real estate licence specialising in bridge sales, too.
