IWB Holsters for "Bigger" guys, question?
Just a question for any of the “Bigger” guys around here. I’m 6’4” & 270lbs w/ a 40 waist. I’m not obese by any means but when sitting I do have a little bit of a spare tire so side holsters tend to not be that comfortable. I’m assuming the most comfortable IWB holster would be one for the small of the back. Any bigger guys have suggestions on IWB holsters that are comfortable for them. I appreciate any help.

get one with wings, the clips/ straps are spread out to the sides of the holster, it makes it thinner inside you waistline. Like the Sparks VMII or similar styles.

Yeah, I *Might* know something about that ;)
Here's a few broad generalizations ...
Frostyeyes hit the nail on the head ... IWB's with "wings" that have the belt loops off-set from the body of the holster are way easier to get in the pants. It also helps when this is done in conjunction with a small thin gun such as a medium - small single-stack 1911.
I also find high riding IWB follow the contours of my middle, whereas my low riding IWB's follow the contours of my hip / butt cheek. Each is useful but during months that I'm heavier my high riding IWB seems to feel more comfortable, though it is NOT more concealable. My favorite high-ride IWB is the COM 3 by HBE Leatherworks ... any of the leather guys can set up but you have to mention that you want it to ride a little high (though not with the COM 3 - that one is made for exactly this situation "as is").
Almost forgot ... Kydex ... it's thinner than leather ... my favorite kydex IWB is the Hidden Asset by BearClaw Holsters.
Shoot safe ...

I'm 6'1", 250 and I'm using a QuickClip right now. I think it works really well but I've still got to play with it more to find the best position/cant to hide my XD-45 the best (the grip still prints, so I've resorted to wearing jackets/windbreakers in 72 degree weather for now ).

You may want to look at COMP-TAC.com They have really nice holsters, I just got a Gurka that feels really nice.

Folks have good things to say about the Comp-TAC's but I prefer the SuperTucks from CrossBreed, which is a sponsor here. It meets the "wings" and "kydex" requirements and is tuckable which is a plus. It is very comfortable even with my spare tire...

You do not want a SMB holster.
I am 6-1 250. I have an XD45 Tactical. I bought a plastic IWB holster for the XD45. It is very uncomfortable for me to carry the XD45 in this holster for more than an hour. It sticks into my side and bothers me.
I carry a 1911 or P14 in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster. All day carry is a cinch. No problems at all!
I ordered another holster and it is better but it is not a MS VMII.
I will order another MS VMII soon. I am sold on the MS VMII.

I am the same size 6'2"/265 and carry a Kahr P9 IWB in a Uncle mikes neoprene clip on. It's cheap and it works. I carry my XD in colder weather with a paddle holster OWB......I don't think guys like you and me were made to carry 4" and 5" double stack guns IWB....Maybe if I put less food IWB, I could carry other ways.....

Hehehe, good stuff Pine.
I appreciate the suggestions, I'll have to take a look at a few of them and see what works. I'm in FL so there won't be ANY windbreakers here, lol.
