XD9 Tactical holster OWB Leather

This may sound crazy but I would like to conceal carry my XD9 Tactical in an OWB leather. I'm also a lefty. I currently have a Ready Tactical holster that I use for IDPA, but sits a little low and is hard to conceal without wearing a long shirt or vest.

Thanks

Talk to Gary down at "Packin' Heat Leather". They are in McAllen, TX. http://www.packinheatleather.com

I just had a transaction with them for a GALCO Fletch (see below). They have stock, as of yesterday, for the left hand version of this holster.

Rides high, doesn't let the slide of the gun gouge you because of the thumb break leather. Nice forward cant for quick draws and re-holstering. Good Holster.

Best of luck!

I've most often made our Laredo Defender for the XD Tactical. It keeps the gun in close. It's also an easy on/off type of holster. Here's a pic:

The straps wrap around your belt, and the snaps are the Pull The Dot type snaps.

Galco and Bianchi have been slow out of the starting gate to get into production for the 5" guns. Almost everything available now, and there are a lot of choices, are for the 4" guns and Galco's superb Ankle Glove holster is the only offering specifically for the Compact XD. The number of Left Hand offerings matches those for Right Hand. There is no shortage of leftie holsters.

We expect the lack of holsters for 3 and 5 inch guns to change in the future and we are constantly urging them to get into action on this.

Anything that fits a 4" gun will fit the 3" and the 5" except that you will have a protruding muzzle or extra space left at the muzzle but it should not affect the security of the fit.

Galco does make a synthetic (think Kydex) M7X Matrix belt slide holster that accomodates any length slide but it may not be the absolute best carry holster.
