Comp tac CTAC

I purchased and recieved this holster, however I have yet to use it as my CPL has yet to arrive. It is for my XDSC9. I am not sure if I made the right decision, seeing how popular the crossbreeds are around here, but I am going to try it and see how I like it.

I am tall with a thin frame (6'2" 175 lbs) and it seems to fit me best at the 5 oclock position. One thing I noticed while taking it out of the holster is that it seems to mark the very end of my slide with a light smudge/scratch mark. It is very small and only near the opening of the barrel on the left side, but I dont want to turn into a big deal. Anyone have any comments on this issue?

I've noticed smudging from my CTAC. I thought it was wearing the finish on my slide, but it seems to be some residue from the holster. I was taking a Defensive Shooting class and had to practice my draw a lot, so my Sig P220 Carry came out of the holster many times. When I first saw the blemish, I got ticked, but found I could wipe it off with some effort. After awhile, it stopped appearing, so I figured the holster just needed some break in time. No problems now and I love the holster. It's very comfortable and can be adjusted for cant and height to fit my preferences.

Good luck.

The C.T.A.C. is a good holster IMO. It holds your firearm securely, allows you to cant it to your liking, keeps the handle where you can easily obtain a grip on it and finally, it keeps your pants off your weapon.

If you have a problem with your grip printing, you can slide the gun around to the 3 o'clock position and cant it all the way forward...

Congrats. You have a nice set-up; don't second guess it.

I wouldn't worry about your finish. I mean, c'mon, its a carry gun right? Its going to get holster marks, scratches, etc... Unless its a "Safe Queen" and you only take it out to wipe it down and show your friends. The wear marks give it character.

Thanks for the insight guys. Yeah, I shouldn't really worry about the finish TOO much, but I dont want a holster that is going to leave nasty, consistent scratches. I am sure the holster just needs to be broken in. Thanks again,

If it's leaving scracthes, use some super dooper fine sand paper to smooth her out just a little. OR make sure you don't have dirt on your holster or your gun. That'll also do it.

The C-T.A.C. is a pretty awesome holster. I use mine everyday. I am going to get another one for use with my 1911's. If it makes you feel any better, I've got several $2,000+ 1911's that I carry on occasion, and they've got their "character marks" on them too!
