Hello guys I am new to the forum and to gun ownership. I just purchased an xd40 and having trouble with locating lights, grips, left handed holsters etc. your help will be much appreciated. Looking to accessorize

for the Sub-Compact's you'll need the smaller weapon lights. I've got a Insight XML though it's kinda wimpy with a 40 lumen output.

The Streamlight's TLR-3 (110 Lumens) a great high value light option usable with Sub-Compacts and so is the TLR-4 (if you want a laser with your light)

For grip security a piece of 3M Tape works great over the front strap.

As for holsters OWB, a Don Hume 721 O.T.

And IWB a Crossbreed with the Crimson trace laser guard option. Both of these holster are available left handed.

Oh and the sights on my XD9SC are Truglo TFOs, though there being replaced by some Trijicon HDs. And it's also running a PRP Ultimate Match Trigger Kit.

Mine is the subcompact 3 inch. Xd accessories has some but not sure if they will fit. Thanks for the help twombz. I don't have a lot of cash at the moment so was looking for something inexpensive. I have a blackhawk 2 cqc but don't really like it. What about that barrel u have?

Now that you got a line on some of this stuff, slow down. Shoot 200-300 rounds through your gun, THEN start deciding on what you want to change and what you want to add. Personally, I'd stay away from the white gun lights. It makes a dandy target for the BG. You might want to find a "basic handgun safety and handling" type of course, usually offered at most ranges and gun shops. It'll teach you a lot.

Already have a chl class scheduled on Friday and I've been around guns all my life so it's not my first rodeo just my first handgun. I appreciate all of your help and suggestions!
