XD Take Down Lever Mod
So I had some extra parts laying around and sometimes get annoyed at the range with the take down lever. So i got rid of it. Quick use of the mini mill and lathe to clean things up and below is what I have. Straight bladed screwdriver will do the same function as before, just cleaner and less obstructions. If I dont like it, I can always go back. Still have the original

You said let you know what we think.... Looks like you broke your takedown and put a screw in...... I am a fan of the DIY mentality though! And to each their own. If it works for you and your happy, that's what matters.

I don't see the reasoning. The stock take down lever is flat against the slide/frame and doesn't catch on anything or get in the way at all.

I think the stock take down lever is clunky looking on an otherwise fine looking piece. If that screw were black it would look better, but like another poster said, it looks like you broke your take lever and used a screw.
Also what is the black thing hanging off the back of it?

I am not sure what that is either, but my guess would be velcro maybe to hold a remote switch?

Looks like a slide racking lever to me
As for the mod, looks good but don't know if I would like to use a tool for field stripping

To those that have issue with the big, ugly XD take down lever, I have a solution... 
I wouldn't want a pistol that needed a tool to field strip it..
But that is just me..
