XD Take Down Lever ModThis is a discussion on XD Take Down Lever Mod within the SA-XD/XD(M) Accessories forums, part of the XD Talk category; That's slick. I like it. But yes it needs to be black.
Is it flat with the frame side?

It is a slide racker. I had plans of putting an RMR or C-more (on a carver mount), but i've been too busy purchasing other stuff for guns. I know that is steel (harder than chinese trigonometry) so I'm also looking into black oxide for steel. I know conversion coats for aluminums, steels and stainless is not something I deal with on a regular basis.

This is genius!
Just the solution I have been looking for.
I love the XD, but was about to sell it because the position of the lever is exactly where I put my weak hand thumb, and it sucks.
Thanks a million!

Excellent idea! There is probably a market for these and yes on black.

Also what is the black thing hanging off the back of it?

Clunky yes. Able to use without tools? Check. Able to use with cold stiff fingers? Check. Able to use wearing gloves? Check. Wet? Check. Slippery? Check. I'll stick with clunky thanks.

I'm lost on practicality of the screw thingie --- totally lost is the ability to field strip by hand --- with the screwy concept screw driver required ---- NOT!!!

Well what I have never liked about the takedown lever is that it throws UP instead of DOWN. Now maybe I'm missing some fundamental exposure here, but keeping that dang lever straight up so it doesn't scratch your slide while field stripping is a bit of a challenge. Just the act of pushing the slide forward moves the lever into scratch mode if you're not extremely careful.
Ok, "It's just you."

I like it. I would have to think long and hard before doing it to mine but love the idea
