Got my Crimson Trace Laserguard LG-453 (green) laser setup today. Ordered Wednesday, arrived US Postal from California. Found my postal carrier on her route - so I wouldn't have to chase her down later.
Anyway...
Contents of box:
manual(s), warranty registration card, battery, 2 lens cleaning swabs, laser warning labels, 3 fine screws, small hex driver and (of course) the laser unit itself.
First step is to insert the battery - check to make sure the laser lights before putting it on the firearm.
Mount electronics half of shell of onto the rail and trigger guard - than carefully mount the cover shell over the rail, trigger guard and electronics half.
Be careful with the screws - starting, then tightening to resistance, and rotate until well seated/tight - BUT NOT OVERTIGHTENED (or you will strip the plastic out).
I had watched the installation videos that CT has on youtube - so I didn't bother cracking the manuals - though, even if I hadn't - this thing is pretty much a no-brainer to put on.
Actuation is "intuitive", in that - as soon as you draw and grip the pistol grip - your middle finger actuates the switch. It will work ambidextrous - and appears to actuate correctly in a weak hand/2-handed competitive style grip (which obviously takes longer to assume in a "critical situation").
Factory cal appears to be dead on with iron sights at 50', though I haven't shot it yet to see the groups. Plan on checking it out at the range, and re-aiming at 50' with a boresight sometime next week - but overall - in a critical situation (when a quick shot needs to get off without the "standard tactical stance", or in an "unusual situation", I'm sure it would get a shot in the 10 ring center mass out of the box.
I carry all my Full Sized lased carries (FN5.7, SW99) in a good old (well worn) Ace Nylon IWB holster (ope on the bottom). Next gun show I'm hoping to find something better - but honestly, the one I have fits quite well - and doesn't accidentally actuate the lasers.
I got this at a REALLY GOOD PRICE ($227 including first class postal shipping), and I'm waiting to hear back from the vendor to see if he'll continue to extend this price past the holiday rush - or at least honor the price for XDTalk forum members.
Regards,
Rick
