I believe it was said 16 rounds. I don't think it is possible to put more than that in a magazine the width of and XD-40 magazine and still be under 140mm. I wonder if when loaded to 16 round are they loadable in a slide forward gun??? This really does still sort of stick it to an XD-40 Limited Major shooter. That would be 17 rounds in the gun and with a USPSA stage they could conceivably make you shoot nine rounds from any given location. Most Limited gun run 18+ round in the magazine for just that reason. They can shoot two locations before reloading. Even with the extend magazine your going to be stuck reloading between two nine round locations. If you shooting Limited minor thats another story. The capacity should the as high as any other Limited Minor gun.

If your not a hard core gamer than it will be better than the factory 12 rounders but ultimately the XD-40 can only take you so far in Limited. The 16 round magazines are going to eventually limit you ability to shoot as fast as 18+ round magazines.
