Good budget flashlight?

I am wanting to get a decent flashlight that is relatively small so I can handle it along with my XDM. I am intending to keep this next to my nightstand gun. Now here is the kicker: I am a college student, so I don't have $100-150 to drop on a frigging flashlight. So, does anyone have any good suggestions on a decent nightstand flashlight? I would like it to be small enough to mount to myxdm or sig 2022 eventually, or be a dedicated mounted light.

I have been using 4sevens lights for years now and in fact I EDC one of their fine lights. The Quark tactical QTL may fit the bill for you it is bright reliable and compact. The other thing I like about the quark line is they are essentially a "lego" set up you can interchange heads, tails and body's as you need to fit the use of the light. For the price they are hard to beat. you can find all of their lights for sale at foursevens.com

If you look around you can probably still find a Surefire G2 for under $40. A little more will get a G2L.

You could get the XD Gear Flashlight Holder and then add any 1" flashlight you like ...

(I have a Flashlight Holder for sale)
Got some accessories for sale (Mags, Pouch and Light Holder)

I have a couple of Brinkman's I got at Menards, they are great lights for about $25.00 and take three AAA batteries. I was in there the other day and seen a 180 lumen light made by I think Guidesman or something like that. They were about $18.00 plus tax and took two AA batteries.

Check out Fenix Lights, I carry the PD32. 315 Lumens, four light settings low, medium, high and turbo mode. Also has strobe and SOS. Can usually find them for about $70 bucks. If you want a perfect light for the house check out their TK35 815 lumens and can be bought for about $100 bucks. I have a store near me selling the TK35 for $89.95.

Or their website, Fenix's homepages

Also a youtube review on it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkKkE9AN6hU

Just got a Nebo 220 lumen tactical light from the local Batteries Plus. Uses AAA batteries. Has five modes and a magnetic end for sticking on a steel surface. Cost me $40.00. You can get it for less. Looks good, is bright and has a focusable beam and long-life settings. But it'll be awhile before I know how much abuse it can take. I'm a little worried about the "smart switch" in the end of the thing. One year warranty. Here's a sample on ebay:

I saw the Nebo in my local shooting range just last weekend. I think they wanted $35 for it. It was really bright and seems decently made. I had just never heard of it, so was skeptical on buying it. Maybe I should just go pick it up and call it good.

I have a Fenix E11 for EDC. It's outstanding - just one AA battery provides 105 lumens in a compact and easily manageable package. You can get one on Amazon or through other outlets for between $22-30. You really can't beat it.

If you're wanting something a slightly bigger without breaking the bank, look into TerraLUX Lightstar series. TerraLUX is based in Colorado and make outstanding value flashlights. I have a LightStar 220 that I got for like $25. It runs on two AA's.
