I think on PRP site they sell them for $12? don't know if it comes with more than 1... but I suppose is suppose to be super stronger than stock. but SP come in packs of 3 or 4 at $1 or something like that... but they look like normal factory ones :/ anyone with some knowledge on this dilemma?
PRP pins are beefed up and come 4 to a pack. SP sells stock pins.

Oh, and the PRP kits seem to be what everyone here uses. At least the ones that are vocal about it. I wouldn't hesitate to get either, but I'm biased and would go with another PRP trigger kit if I got another XD/XDM.

I have 2 Ultimate PRP installed kits and a drop in that I DIY'd. The drop in is 85-90% as good as the PRP installed kit. Only real difference is the Ultimate kit's sear lightens the pull a little more. Not a big deal; the drop in isn't very noticeably different than the Ultimate.

When you do do the change over, will you first mark your trigger guard with the following: Forward most position, full take-up, approximate fire position, full over travel position, and trigger reset for both stock and then the aftermarket trigger in different colors to show difference. If you would do that I would greatly appreciate it as all I can find on a quick search is all XDMs and I have an XD45.
Great idea!!! I will make sure and do this when I make the swap. Note that I have the XD40. But the results should be similar.

I think I am going to go with Springer. After talking to several friends who own various pistols, and explaining the differences between the two kits, all were unanimous in saying to go for the kit that used the trigger bar as the main method of resolving the issue. This made sense to me, so I will be ordering it soon (next few paychecks).

Care to share the difference? The popular opinion here is that the way PRP goes about it is 'better'. I'm curious as to how the SP kit works it's magic.

Just installed the PRP in 9mm today. Even I could do it and I'm not mechanically inclined, infact I'm challenged.

Easy to do, and shoots well. Did what it is supposed to do. I now have a nice trigger.

PRP seems to be the forum favorite. Check out their little 3d animations on how their triggers work vs stock vs other companies. I remember reading in a thread that the Springer Precision trigger didn't remove much pretravel. I could be wrong; you could try searching for it.

Or, you could always send it to SA CS for a factory trigger job. It keeps your SA warranty on everything. If you use PRP, the trigger won't be warrantied by SA anymore. But I believe it will be by PRP.

speaking from experience PRP's customer service CAN NOT BE BEAT. Their drop in trigger is super easy to install and they stand behind their products 100%.

Took factory pull from 6.5lbs down to 4.0lbs (DIY drop in trigger), took pre travel / creep from about half an inch to almost nothing, it also did away with the excessive over travel, and last but not least reduced the reset by half as well.

Can you explain what the trigger bar does and how it improves anything? No one ever ******* can, not even Springer Precision. I find that pretty shady and don't like it one ******* bit! I'm happy giving Daniel @ PRP my money because his business is 100% transparent. He'll explain anything and everything. Once he even told me to "save your money. The PRP Ejector is just a replacement part for a worn stock unit."

You don't see many businesses telling you NOT to buy one of their products very much. Except for the best.

GMcouch, that wasn't directed at you. I'm just frustrated why it's such a huge secret. Maybe you can explain it once you get it.

But I'd still urge you to go with PRP.

I have only Springer comp. triggers in my 5.25s. They are sweet and set at about 2.5lbs but cannot comment on the PRP. I would like to shoot one the the PRP trigger to compare the difference, but I love mine.
