XDm9 5.25 Competition mods complete

I got the Powder River drop in trigger kit in this week and had a chance to install it this evening. They do a great job in their instructional videos and I was done in about 30 minutes. The kit I got is the "drop in" kit and there is zero fitting that you have to do. Many of the other kits involve sanding/filing to get the proper fit. I would not have selected this kit if I was going to send the gun in. I would have gone with the Ultimate Match model. I think I sacrificed a little in overall results in the trigger versus a true "fitted" trigger job, but saved a bunch of time and money on shipping it out to have a 'smith do it. I also now have a much more complete understanding of how the XD functions after having it nearly completely apart. I did not buy their special punch set, I used a Craftsman set that I've had for years.

I also added a sold stainless guide rod, Operator Magwell, and bump pads to 5 of my magazines. I got all that stuff from Pistolgear. The operator magwell is pretty slick. It slips on and it retained by the a long set screw that replaces the exchangeable grip panel. It takes all of 2 minutes to put on and it looks and seems to funtion well. I had good quick turnaround from both Powder River and Pistolgear and wouldn't hesitate to recommend either.

The trigger is SMOOTH and LIGHT, remarkably different from the stock trigger (which I didn't find to be horrible). Drastic reduction in takeup and reset, and good reduction in overall travel as well. I'm hoping to get it out to a range soon to see how it shoots.

PRP STRIKER XD/XDM
This is our polished striker made from heat treated (52-53 Rockwell) Chromalloy steel. The face of the striker has been micro polished using a proprietary vibratory process to give you a smooth crisp smooth trigger pull. It fits the XD and the XDM 9mm and 40 cal pistols.

Mods are never complete. Especially true if you have an AR.
My XD and M4 never stay the same for long... Always tweaking something

Sent from the tactical communication device in my pocket.....

Funny! I know what you are saying about mods. I want to keep it IDPA legal so there isn't a whole lot more I can do to it. I'll check out that striker.
