Opinions on magazine extensions...

Hey guys, this is my first post on here, so be gentle. I have a few xd's in my repertoire (xd9 tactical, xdm 3.8 9, and xdsc9) and have recently been looking at some mods. I recently put a canyon creek oversized mag release on the tactical. I like it a lot, but it makes it uncarryable in my crossbreed supertuck, but fine in my bravo concealment OWB. I work in a fab/machine shop so things come easy to me to build/acquire. Here is my question:

I have been thinking of making a convertible mag release that could be changed from oversize/extended back to a stock sized mag release with only an allen wrench and no gun disassembly. I think it would be great for converting from the range back to carry if someone was to only have one gun and wanted both options. what's you guy's thoughts?

or the possibility of ambi extended/oversized buttons?

Sounds like it could be easily done by drillin and tappin the mag release button and having a small bushing to bolt onto it for extended duty
