XDM 3.8 question

Ok so don't shoot the new guy here but I was wondering something... Can you put a compensator on a xdm .40 3.8?

Seems like it, just need to get the front of the barrel threaded or get a threaded barrel. Or you can get a ported barrel and call it a day

The 3.8 accessories are sloooooowly getting to the market. May be some out now. (haven't checked lately). You just need to get a new barrel to mount the comp or as was said, just a ported extra long barrel (or port the current one and slide).

A caution is that most 3.8's are for carry and ported barrels make it extra super loud for the shooter. I mean single shot permanent hearing damage loud because the blast is redirected back and up to counter the recoil. That's exactly wrong for a carry gun, especially as most SD shootings are in low light. Loud and blindingly bright in the dark. Not a great SD combo! Just my opinion.

Ya you make a pretty good point about the ported barrel. If or when it's available I think the comp would be the best idea.
Think the compensator would interfere with the occasional carry?
