Best Light or Light/Laser for your $$$.

I've been doing a good bit of shopping looking for the right setup for my XDm 3.8 9c. I am at a crossroad just trying to make the right purchases.

Post up your opinions, comments, concerns, and pictures about what light you have or want to buy. Please help me and others sort through the many different tac lights available. And your holster you have for your gun and light.

So far I have narrowed my search down to:

Viridian C5L (Awesome light/laser, but big buck$$$)
Viridian C5L Gun Laser Sights | Viridian Green Laser Gun Sights

Streamlight TLR 2 (another quality light/laser, but I think if I was going with the combo I would rather a green laser like C5L)
Tactical Gun Mount Series - TLR-2 with Laser Sight | Streamlight

Streamlight TLR 1 (I have been leaning toward this one, I just don't know if a laser is worth all that extra $$$)
Tactical Gun Mount Series - TLR-1 | Streamlight

So these are the lights I am looking at. Also, for the TLR 1, should I go with the TLR 1s (strobe) or just the TLR 1 (without strobe)? Is strobe a great feature to have? Is a laser worth the extra ca$h?

Let's hear it guys, what is your favorite light or light/laser. Doesn't have to be one of the one's mentioned above. Post your pics.

Thanks

I dont see the need to put a laser on it. I look at it this way.

if you put a tac light on a handgun such as the XD rail mount, the tac light will put the beam out far enough and bright enough to light up your target.

within a certain range, as most handguns will be used for self defense and within 20 feet (i think) the tac light will make a circle on the target and you will be hitting somewhere in the circle. built in combat accuracy? < maybe?

any other time I think iron sights would be good. ya know?

^ this is the one I have. not that big of a deal but the switch is awkward and doesn't like holsters. its almost impossible to holster and have it remain "off".

I love my Streamlight TLR-1. I'm a cheap A$$ and hate spending money on stuff like a flash light. But so happy I spent the cash on this light. I use it all the time, whether or not its mounted on my weapons.

The best light I own is my SurefireX300. I also like my Insight WX150, but the Surefire is a better light, IMHO.

I don't own a laser; after owning a pair of CT grips, I don't see how they provide anything that practice won't provide.

I grabbed this one on sale for $29.99 (reg $49) a few months ago when I was making an order for other stuff so shipping did not add anymore for the light. Thought worth a try for $29.

Phase Illumination Weaponlight White LED with batteries fits Picatinny and Glock Rails

Obviously it is not the same as expensive SureFire or Sreamlight, but your OP title said best for $$$, and this could be it. Seems solid, have put several dozen rounds over it with no bad signs. I'm no expert on gun lights, but two things I like on this one: simple positive engage to the rail, and simple switch just a little side to side slide that falls right where my trigger finger indexes along the frame

I'm interested in this as well. I'm about 4 months out from purchasing my XD, but I'd like to know what other accessories, in this case lighting, would be best. Whats good for an XD 9mm service/tactical size?

Get a hand held light and learn how to use it correctly. Can be used for other apps and is better for HD. Spend the money saved on ammo and practice.
