i was acutally planning on gettin my xdm hydrocoated. there's a comapany in northern louisiana that'll hydrodip just about anything, but never thought about trying it myself

For a little more, you can send off your gun, or whatever you want done and have it professionally done with a finish that you know is durable and you don't have to clean your bathtub afterwards. Just seems a little too expensive and invoved for trial and error. Aerosol applications are not really known to be consistent, so it may, or may not turn out satisfactory. I understand it would be cool to do yourself but too many things can go wrong. How would you remove it if you didn't like it? I have no experience witht his product, it's just my opinion based on my experience getting my slide done and reading the FAQ section on their site.
