I don't know why I did it but I did. I've had horrible experiences with their customer service in the past but I figured I'd give them one more shot. I ordered a Viridian C5L laser off Amazon.com from Optics Planet. Their store front on Amazon told me that they had 5 in stock. The next day I get an email telling me that it was back ordered and they would be receiving more with 5-10 days. I called TWICE to confirm this and one rep assured me that the 5-10 days was accurate and the other said 7-10 days. Not a big deal since these are in such high demand. Well the 10 days came and went and still no package or shipping confirmation. I call them today and I was informed that they are now expecting a shipment of 100 on Feb 17th and that they have over 150 orders they need to fill for this item and no way to tell me if my order will be filled from the shipment they receive on the 17th and I could be stuck waiting longer. Their customer service people are completely incompetent and they clearly have no idea how to run their logistics department. I've placed several orders from them and in all but one circumstance the item I ordered was back ordered. I had to fight them to refund my expedited shipping costs and I still have no idea when I'll get my laser.

In short, if you're considering buying ANYTHING from Optics Planet you should reconsider because chances are they won't have it in stock and they won't be able to tell you when they will have it shipped to you. Seems like the entire operation is run by kindergartners who still haven't learned to count!

I'd hit 'em where it counts and cancel the order. You just might luck out and get it faster from somewhere else.

I have heard good and bad about them, but 4 days ago I decided to give them a try, since I never had my own experience with them.

I ordered a Blackhawk holster, which 85% of the sites had listed "out of stock". I used the Chat button on the site, talked to a rep to see if they had it in stock, and got thumbs up. Then goggled for a coupon code for 5% off, and placed my order. Item arrived today.

So far, I have to say they did me right, and I would probably use them again.

I just order mine today from ebay and it seems right for $250 item number 260731333152. I researched the seller and found two good reviews for the item and they said the shipping was fast! I'll let you know how it goes in a few days...

If you use them again I suggest using the chat feature every time because they do not remove items from their website or list them as out of stock or back ordered on their website. They do this so that you still place the order and then they don't tell you the truth about when it will be in stock.

The manager there actually told me today that If they informed everyone that it would actually be 2-4 weeks and possibly longer then they would lose sales and they don't want that.

Sorry to hear about your experience. The lowest I saw on ebay was $269 shipped.

Your right I just order today @ 4pm EST and their sold out @ 7:18. He had about 8 or so... I just got lucky.

They were $275. I had a $250 gift card balance on Amazon from Christmas so I figured I'd use it on that. So now they are holding my $ and they have no idea when it will ship. They must LOVE playing the float!
