Check this laser/light out!

So I wanted a light mounted on my xd 45c for home use and while camping. I ended up finding a laser/light that I really liked. It was the TLR-2. But with the TLR-2 its out of my price range on what I wanted to spend.

So I found this. Its the laserspeed LH-2LLR-SPX. Its exactly the same as the TLR-2 style wise. I almost wonder if its made in the same factory. But if not the quality is defiantly on par.

This light is 220 lumen's! With all the lights out in my house "pitch dark" I cant believe how bright this is. There is absolutely no way you can look in the direction of this light.

There are several modes you can choose from. Straight light, laser only, laser/light, or strobe on all three.

The laser is built very solid and is extremely easy to adjust. I have it set dead on at about 15 feet. If it go to about 7 feet the laser is about 1" below my target and at 35 feet its about 2" above the target "Door knob".

So I went out and put a few rounds through it and everything held together without a problem. I can take the unit off the gun and then remount and the settings on the laser did not change off zero. You can put this unit on by hand only and it works perfect. You don't need any tools.

So the good part is I paid $119 with free shipping through longhorn tactical. LaserSpeed Strobe Tactical Light with Red Laser Sight - 220 lumens They also make a green laser version as well.

Here are a few shots mounted on my xd 45 compact.

I'd be interested in seeing how long it lasts.

How many is a few ?

And I'd love to get an update after a few hundred ... If it does that, it should be good for it's normal expected use ... Heck, if you're already confidant that it will survive the next few trigger pulls ... I guess you're good to go ...

NICE !!
I paid more than that for a TLR-1 (used) a few years ago.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the green laser one. I have a Streamlight Mx6, but this one has more lumens and I can get it in green without paying $350.00 + for it.

25 +P Ranger t 230 grain. Wanted to see if they would feed through my xd so I killed two tests with one. I did not even use a coin to tighten the screw. I just used my fingers.

After seeing a TLR-2 i honestly don't think there is a difference. Except this has a better led and is half the cost. There will be haters, but just wanted to give an honest opinion. Ill shoot with it a few more times and see how everything holds up. But because this takes about 10 seconds to install I plan on taking it off for carry use and snap it back on for home defense at night. So it really does not need to hold up for a 1000 rounds.

Its all machined aluminum. So it holds onto the rail with a lot of force. The only movement I can get out of it is the actual twist of the xd frame.

That looks like an exact knock off of the tlr-2. Where is it made? One thing that I've found is you get what you pay for. Which in my case, was $75 for a almost brand new tlr-2. Gotta love craigslist. all I know is if someone broke into my house and I fired a round and the light went out, I'd be a little worried.

So I gotta ask, where is the TLR-2 made? Like I said above, 25 +p rounds of .45 acp and nothing went wrong. That is a pretty big bang. I'm not going to leave the unit attached while I go to the range.
