Wrong again.

Gel is a simulant that acts as an average density of everything--a certified paramedic would know that there's lots of squishy stuff and air voids in the human body that will be considerably less dense than the gel as well...

And "endoskeleton"? As opposed to what--humans with exoskeletons?

Using modern JHP's, and given equal placement, there's no difference in terminal performance between 9mm and .40. None.

I know there is a lot of squishy stuff in the human body. I am almost positive you know more about ballistic gel than I do. All I can go off of is the tests I have seen with ballistics jell and of those tests, I have never seen a projectiles path violently alter a couple inches after penetrating. I have seen someone shot head on in the chest with a exit wound in there lower left flank.

Maybe I should have just asked this question to those who have a strong opinion about the incapacitating power of a 9mm.

If someone told you they were going to shoot you in the center of your chest but you got to pick which round you got shot with. Would you rather take a hit from a 9mm, .40 or .45?

One thing that I will add is that you have to take into consideration that LEOs & departments have to still deal with liability and that is why a lot of depts are still using the smaller caliber rounds. people sue leos and jurisdictions all the time.

One cannot and should not base their home defense or personal weapons choices on what law enforcement carries or uses. There are a multitude of factors they have to contend with and adhere to that you as civilians don't. Same goes for the military. A whole different thing altogether.

Just something to consider.

None of the above. Stupid question, anyway...you could add .22 LR into the mix, and my answer would be the same.

(And before he gets accused of being a 9mm fanboy, Cuda66 usually carries a .45, because it carries well, he controls it well, and it just darn works for him...however, when he's not carrying a .45, he's carrying a 9mm, and does not feel he is at a disadvantage at all...because he knows he can place rounds on target with his chosen platfrom, regardless of caliber)
