I carry a XD40sm, was wondering since lasers don't work well in the day light are they worth the money vs just installing night sights............ I'm looking at ArmaLaser stingray sr2.

Economical is relative. I bought a
LASERLYTE Rear Sight Laser (RSL) for XD/XDM
I am new to pistol no longer can see well and thought the price was reasonable. I just had them installed and have 0 range time but expect to punch a few holes this weekend. There are advantages and disadvantages to all setups. I felt this setup for cost, adjustment, light, and target aquisition, and standard holster was a winning trade off.
Good luck

True, but works well in dark at home when bad guys come knocking, and that laser look really cool mounted to the gun like that. Thanks for the info. Might just pick that up.

Never thought about the holster issue. Gonna mount one in the car in a few weeks. Looking for a solution to that as well. So much to think about ......

They also make it for the 3 inch as well, lasers are a great add on if you find the one that is best for you, just because someone doesnt like it doesnt mean you wont like it. I have the internal for my service and love it, works great day or night and it works for what I need.... Here is another link for you to the 3 inch model
Laser for Springfield XD Sub-Compact 40 9mm Laser Sight and if all else fails... Call them!

I also bought a RSL for my XD45 SErvice, it works great, had James from HS-2000 put it on for me.
I could not ask for a better experience from him or the sight.
