Decisions decisions
I currently have the XD 9mm Service model and am currently (and by currently I mean as I type this) trying to talk my wife into buying me a CBST, now my dilemma is do I order one for the Service now or do I wait until Feb after my next (last) child is born and by one with the XD9sc that I intend to buy?

I would say wait and get one with the XD9sc... have to figure how much you will use the one for the service once, you get the sc

The CBST for the service will work for the SC when you get it. The only thing you MIGHT need to do is trim some leather. Go ahead and get it now and it will be broken in for the SC.
Plus... Once the baby comes, who knows what funds will be like?

Well fellas I got approval from the War Department (my wife). I can get the holster for the Service and I think, I said I THINK, that the CBST is included in my XD9sc budget. She recommends a price range and generally Im under budget or a touch over. Besides like Rob said the sc could fit so...I might not need it after all.

Or as another option, if the service and sc do not fit the same CBST, you could get the Comp-Tac M-Tac with interchangeable holsters and just get both the service and sc holsters instead of having to buy 2 separate rigs.

I think the sc will fit in the Service holster.
By the way, congratulations on the new addition to your family!

the sc will fit in the service holster, the only difference is the amount of leather below the kydex (more for the service since it has a longer barrel). I say go ahead and get one now. It'll be a couple weeks before you get it anyways.

Ctac's MTAC Minotaur has a "slide version" with open bottom to fit all guns of a series. The Service and Sc both fit AND the M versions, while not perfect will also be able to use it. The reverse is NOT true, that is an M specific holster will NOT accomodate a std. XD.
"The "Slide" version allows you to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as Glock 9mm, .40, and .357's). The Slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so the excess barrel length on longer guns can "slide" through the end of the holster. A "Full-Coverage" version can be ordered by selecting your specific gun model."

I looked up a couple of reviews of the CBST off of the forum, since I think you guys are little biased hahaha, and found a few that state that the sc will fit in the Service holster. I even found a few videos that SHOW the sc being put in the Service holster. Thanks on the congrats Tbone.

I hope I don't get yelled at for this but my CBST that I ordered for my .45TAC will also fit my XD9TAC and my .40 SC. Unfortunately not all at the same time but you get my point.
