That makes this very tempting to me, as I am one of those who tends to place the thumb on the slide release so that the slide never locks back.

I love this post and plan on using you guide when pistol gear gets some back in stock I have also thought about just changing to the XDm slide stop lever I love the triangular shape of that one. Has anyone else made this mod or changed the XD ssl to the XDm

Me too!  I love my XD but I feel awkward unless my thumb rests right where the slide release sits. Like I don't have a firm enough grip. Or maybe it's just my insecurities coming to the surface...

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to post this along with the process and pics.
I almost always "ride" the slide stop and it doesn't lock back on the final round, thus making for longer reloads at our matches (that you haven't attended in quite some time now!).

Yea, ever since Htown moved to Alpine then San Antonio, we've been planning on attending a match with you guys. I've gone to the Bullet Hole in SA a couple of times but haven't attended a match there either. We're having a 3 gun match next month here in Alpine, looking forward to that. I'll see if Htown want's to make plans to go to one of you alls matches once it warms up.
