IWB Holster from local saddle maker

I've got a local saddle maker helping me make these holsters. If anyone is interested. The price is $115.00 shipped and the lead time is about two weeks. Each one will be hand made to order so If you would like to change something just let me know. They are available in all xd/xdm models and if your a lefty you can get one too.

Looks nice. Does it have any sweat shield on the back?

Looks like the retainer straps may need to be larger/wider. They look a little weak as is (just criticism, not to offend)

I'm not offended at all. This is the first one that we did and I know that it needs some tweaking. The main reason for my post is to see if there is any interest. The saddle business has slowed a little with the economy so my friend was looking at branching out with his talents.

I appreciate the input and I'll be sure to post some better pics of the next one before I scuff it up.

here's my 2 cents from a parttime professional holster maker. overall, it looks good, but could use a few tweaks to make it better. the edges look like they need to be burnished, the molding is good, but there needs to be a sight channel so the front sight doesn't drag/hang up when drawing. pain in the arse to do on a single side molding, but still needed. round the area right behind the throat support instead of squaring it. also cut a little lower right there so it doesn't interfere with grip. not too sure about using bridle leather for a throat support, seems as it would be too soft to really function well. as stated before, add a sweat shield. add just a little bit to the length so the end isn't poking out (same reasoning as a sweat shield). while I (and most others) prefer wider belt straps, nothing wrong with the current width. the stitching is excellent. if your guy keeps this up, he should do well with holsters.

All good feed back. I think I'll print this post and take it to him so that we can go over the all suggestions.

Any other input first?

I too see the problem with the front sight having no channel. You can actually see the front sight poking through the leather in your photo. That could possibly hang up on a draw.

Definitely gonna need to put some meat on those straps. I like the way that Milt Sparks does his.

I like the way you treated that grip on that gun that I recognize. I'm gonna want that....maybe next Jan!
