XD9 magazine delivered with my XD40
I got an XD9 hi-cap with my XD40. Looks like it will work, but I have no experience with using a 9mm mag with a 40. The search I ran didn't help me out.

Should I return it for the right one or keep it?

9mm mags will work for your .40 but I would call Springfield up and tell them what came in your package, they may just send you the right mag and let you keep the 9mm mag too.

Good idea, I was going to go through my dealer, but SA would be a better bet. I will call on Monday and fill you all in. Thanks!

They are going to send me a 40 hi-cap and reimburse me for shipping the 9mm one back.
