Eezox.. Is it the best?

A friend of mine suggested Eezox to clean the gun and prevent rust. Is this the best thing ngoing out there right now? Thanx in advance for your opinion.

There is always a new 'wonder' product for cleaning, lubing and protecting a firearm.

It's not the product that matters: it's the proper use and application in a timely and repeated fashion.

To be honest in all my years cleaning weapons and they are quite numerous, I have found (and still swear by) Olive oil. I came across an old magazine at an antique auction talking about how guns used to be cleaned and maintained with "Sweet Oil" before petroleum based products were out. I own and operate a small gun shop, and have often had several customers ask what was the best. When I tell them I use Olive oil they laugh for a bit, and then realize I'm serious. Most of them come back around and tell me that they tried it and love it, some prefer cool looking bottles of stuff filled with components they can't pronounce. But for me, I don't stray to far from olive oil. It is as jfdavis58 said, it is all about proper use and application.

In all my years working with guns, I don't like to let one get to the point of rust. I operate my business like an armorer first ensuring that all are clean and properly stored. All the chemicals in the world cannot prevent rust like proper care and cleaning.

IMO, Eezox is the best rust inhibitor available. I use it on all my guns. I've used my ARs, shotguns, and P7s in snow, rain, mud, sand, etc. and it has performed very well. The only downside of Eezox is that it doesn't provided great "lubricity". I use slip 2000 (or Hi-temp grease for my ARs & AKs) on moving parts.

Otis .058 ultra-bore; or Break-Free CLP. I've heard alot of fuss about Eezox but have yet to find it locally.

break free clp. all the way

i saw a test a while ago where they tested oils and rust preventer and CLP did very well for an oil. some other things did better but were not as good for a lube.

i have no idea where that test is but maybe someone will know

Break Free CLP and Eezox came out as the best and longer lasting antirust.
As far as their lubrication, I am not sure which one to go with.
I have used CLP up to now. I am experimenting with M Pro 7. I do not like the fact that CLP has teflon, not good to use in your gun barrel.

As long as you clean OFTEN, then a vege oil "might" work alright. Any organic oil like that will go rancid over time (oxidize itself). Eezox IS still the best IMO. I treat all my guns with it when new and after deep cleaning. In between, CLP and Tetra grease for me.
