well unfortunately.. FL = HUMIDITY from hell..... XD finally couldnt withstand it anymore........ i took pics but cant find em.... but its along the slide where it touches my body..... and on the trigger... im pretty anal about cleaning it aswell. About 2 times a week its cleaned. Going to call SA on monday and see what they can do for me. Anyone know the usual turnaround time since this is currently my ONLY personal sidearm

sorry took so long to reply.. work and family have kept me busy..... i keep my XD lubed inside and out.... i usually wipe it down with outers tri care gun cloth every night/day... i had rust on the side of the slide that came into contact with my shirt/skin.... SA took care of it and refinished everything to include the trigger assembly

my only question is what do they use to refinish.... i notice that its a different finish on it now.. was wondering if it was the melonite finish ... i sent them an email asking about the finish but never got a response

They use a melonite finish now. It's "supposedly" just as tough as the tennifer finish on the glock. I don't know if this is true or not. I know that Tennifer finish is the toughest I hav e ever seen. Regardless, I'm picking up my XD sc in SS. That is, when somene gets one in. I don't want to have to worry about this happening.

IF they replaced the finish with melonite.. well its not holding up well.. the end of the barrel is already showing signs of metal again.. granted no rust sofar... think ill look into an after market company that can provide a much tougher finish
