I bought some new gun oil today, (Weaponshield CLP Review)
![]() Ive been using mostly Breakfree CLP for all my guns, so i will use that as a baseline to compare to this clp. Lubrication: Weaponshield is much smoother feeling, i feel its a better lube. Cleaning Ability: My guns are currently pretty clean, so i couldnt test it alot, but it was pulling alot of blackness out of a gun that was previously cleaned with breakfree. So EQUAL for now Protection: I think weaponshield will have the edge here, its thicker and seems to bond with the gun better. But only time will tell. Ive never had rust issues with BreakFree. Smell: Smells like light cinnamon, i like it alot. I like the smell of breakfree too, but this is a little more pleasent. One of the main reason i wanted to get away from Breakfree was the teflon additive, it kept clumping up in corners of my gun making it annoying to clean. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Ill add more to this review once i take my guns to the range and get em dirty |

So i went and shot 550 rounds through my ruger mark 3 this weekend. I had previously cleaned and oiled this unit with the weaponshield.
I went to clean the the gun and i noticed it wasnt nearly as fouled as the last time i shot the same exact ammo in it. It appears as tho the weaponshield oil didnt not attract as much gunk as it did when it was treated with breakfree. As far as cleaning ability, it cleans at least as good as breakfree, pretty equal so far on this front. Ill continue to add my experience with this clp to this thread as i go.... And for those that dont know.....Weapons shield was created by the original creator of FP-10, George C Fennell. Its basically an advancement on his FP-10 design which originally had the scent of cinnimon in it. He was basically booted in a hostile takeover and since then the FP-10 formula has been thinned/cheapened up to maximize profits for the big company. I had tried shooters choice FP-10 and it was pretty much garbage....cold weather did not agree with it at all, gunked up my XD big time. George assured me with the weapons shield cold weather would not affect it. So far he has been absolutely correct.
I got a free sample from him when he relaunched his new product. Yea the bottle stinks as it does leak, I need to get the needle oiler for some more precise applications. Im not a big believer in the whole one product do it all type things (CLP) but in that particular role it does work fairly well. I typically just use it for its LP properties. This product is also non-toxic for those of you with pets or kids that like to get their hands on everything.
