Kept Dry, but Showing Some Rust

About had a heart attack today.

I've had my XD9 service bi-tone for 4 or 5 months now and just noticed rust on the impressions of the front and rear slide serrations.

I live in Utah (probably one of 5 or so driest states out there). Keep it in an air-tight Pelican case with 2 desiccant packs. Somehow, it's still starting to show some light rust.

1- Any ideas on the best way to get rid of the rust?
2- To keep it from rusting again--just use more oil? (Been using Rem Oil)

Thanks for the help.

Thumbs up

Let you in on a little secret!

Wrap it, or any firearm you own
in an oil soaked rag, and it will never
show any signs of rust. Guaranteed!!

Spend the extra $100 and put the Cerekote on it. Not only will you never have rust problems again, you will have one of the hardest coats on the market and will last beyond the ownership of the gun...
