Best cleaning supplies and oils to maintain the XD.
Sorry, i'm sure this has been asked a million times. I tried the search function but didnt get a concise answer.
Whats the best supplies, in your opinion, to clean and maintain a XD?
I am a new gun owner and so far i am just using "Remoil" for cleaning and lube, Q-tips, and a tshirt to clean.
Is there anything else i should be using to make my baby look and perform the best?

To clean, I use Hoppe's #9, or Dunk-It.
To lubricate, I use Militec-1.
By the way, welcome to XDTalk, and gun ownership.

Cleaning with CLP or hoppes or something like that and an old toothbrush does wonders. Don't foget q-tips they are a big time saver in getting into the tight spots.
As for oil................well I'm in the camp of I'll use whatever I have on hand as long as it's an oil type substance. I'll use motor oil, CLP, Rem Oil, ect, ect.

well, not sure how many people do it my way but maby some do. Seems to work just fine for me and gets the gun clean.
I field strip it and use WD40.
Seriously it cleans real good. Spray it heavy, on/in the barrel slide and rails, let it sit. Use tooth brush to work gunk loose and spray again to wash away.
Use some hoppes in/on the barrel.
Compressed air can, or air compressor to blow the excess out of the small areas. dry it all off with a rag. Oil slide with hoppes gun oil (switching to gun butter as soon as i make it back to the store ) and finish off with a silicone rag wipe down.
