My XD is a rust bucket

I love my XD40SC. It hides well. It hits where I point it every time without mechanical failure. But we're approaching another Texas summer. I sweat. I sweat a lot. The XD slide is a rust magnet. What can I have done to the surface to make it more rust resistant? And who can do it in Central Texas? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm to the point of trading it off so I don't have to fight it another summer!

I would figure I'd do this for any gun but everytime I come home from carry I wipe it down with a silicone cloth, if I think it might need it I'll hit it with some oil too.

If rust is a genuine problem, get a can of Brownell's Teflon/ Moly Oven Cure spray. Strip the slide down (bead blast or wire wheel), follow the directions on the can, and your slide will be virtually impervious to anything you can throw (or leak) at it. If your XD is a newer model, it should already be highly corrosion resistant. As for internals, a good dry spray lube works nice...won't bleed onto your clothes, gum up the action, or collect dust and grit like greases or oils will.

You can sell it to me and I'll send it to Robar to have it coated in NP3

It gets very hot here too in the summer (plus high humidity) and I sweat immensely. I always routinely wipe down my weapons with a very light coat of oil. I've never had a problem with rust.
