Getting Rusty
Just got off the phone with SA customer service about rust on my gun they gave me good news. I noticed rust just starting on the slide it is an XD 40 service model pre- melonite by less than 2 months. They said to send the slide in that it is covered under warranty and they will also reimburse me on the shipping cost if I send a copy of receipt. I said great then after I hung up I thought well what about the rest of the metal parts are they covered should I send the whole firearm in? I called back but they are gone home for the day. Anybody with any experience that can share it with me, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Johnny

If you're seeing it on the slide and not elsewhere, if you ship it back I doubt they'll do anything. Now if you see some, that's a different story. My 2 cents, which considering you paid nothing, is a bargain.

I had a pre melonite/tenifer model that I noticed early wear on, calle SA and they did the same thing. Wait til you see what they put on it, you are gonna be one happy camper. The did the Armory Kote on mine, which I liken to the best non stick skillet you've ever seen. I couldn't even smudge mine with a fingerprint or anything, it was very cool.
