1911 Melonite

This might be a silly question, but can you gat a 1911 and have the whole thing (slide, frame etc.) done with a melonite finish! You'll never have to worry about rust.

i was under the impression that melonite is an additive cooked into the metal at forging. i could be wrong.....there are answers as far as finish goes for any gun.

i personally have a moly-resin finish and carry daily with not a single issue. there are tons of options though, duracoat, moly, hard chrome, etc.

Hardchrome works wonders and slicks up the action nicely.
