I think i have some rust

So ill give you guys a little backstory before you start yelling at me. This past weekend i was out hunting whitetail. I never had much luck sitting still and waiting for the deer, so I always wander the mountain looking for them. I hunt in upstate NY and this past weekend it was about 20 degrees up there, pretty standard really.

When i throw on all my cold weather gear, I never have the problem of being too cold. But when i go climing the mountain, i tend to work up a sweat.

I carried my xd with me in a shoulder holster. I am left handed so it goes under my right arm. The whole weekend i never took it out of the holster, i would just put the harness on, and take it off when i wanted to be more comfortable. When i got home on sunday night, i did the same thing. I took the harness off, and threw it on a shelf in the cabinet. Last night i got around to cleaning my shotgun and decided to clean the xd also.

This is what i found when i pulled it out of the holster.

WARNING

The following pictures are not for the faint of heart.

Should i see if SA will refinish it?

is that the melonite one?

well you should have got the xd45 they are made for men not girls
and its just like how mens deoderant works much betten then womans
i bet springfield thought that only girls would buy the 9mm and so they didnt bother putting the antirust finish on it since it wouldnt be getting any hard use

ok i am just kidding! i dont mean any disrespect to the woman that carry xd's
or people that carry 9mms

but i would contact springfield i would think they would try and help you out

Sweat is very caustic. I have seen rust on stainless guns before.
