How to ensure your weapon never rusts again.

Contact your recruiter and join the Marine Corps. Your weapons will always be maintained and will never rust, EVER.

You will rust before your guns do.

The weapons discipline they instill, that's what I meant. I am to the point of anal still, with regard to maintaining my weapons, thanks to what I learned in boot camp. CLP is my best friend.

Those persons that become robots are usually the 0300 grunts anyhow.. Yes, a Marine is ALWAYS an infantryman FIRST, BUT, those people who go into infantry as their MOS turn into the robots because they are doing the same GD thing over and over and over again.

Recruit training was enough for me. Once I got into the fleet I loved my job, I loved the discipline, I loved the structure and order!

Those persons who "broke" were the ones who had weak minds, not to mention more than likely had very poor upbringing and didn't know squat about doing what they were told.

Come on, you still lace your shoes left over right and keep your weapons glistening clean, you know you do.

I still think about the MCRD long wooden q-tips the DIs used to grind into our rifle bores and barrels...any inkling of carbon and we were toast. Robot stuff aside, the discipline and attention to keeping a battle ready weapon was the intent of the original post. That final one drop of CLP wipe down and all.

Yes, I do! Doesn't make me a robot of any sort though! I did that in fact before I enlisted (the laces) because of JROTC in high school...

Yes - my weapons are IMMACULATE! Why have a weapon that is capable of defending my life and that of my friends/family if it's going to be all gunked up at the moment of truth!

Semper Fi my brother!
