Good morning!
I noticed a few days ago that there are a few tiny rust spots inside the barrel of my XD. This happened a few days after taking a walk at the beach, so perhaps some salt spray came in contact with my XD (I was not in the water). I used some basic solvent, patches, and a copper-wire brush to try to remove the spots. I was mostly successful, but a few stubborn spots faintly remain. Does anyone know a good way to remove these spots? Thanks in advance, Frank

Shoot the gun. The bullets will polish the inside of the barrel. Assuming they are no pit marks, you are fine, no worries.

By "pit marks" do you mean tiny dents on the inside of the barrel? Thanks, Frank

ya.. if you shoot like 100 rounds through it and there is still is marks...
shoot some more.. and if still there.. shoot some more.. sooner or later the barrel will wear down enough to get rid of those pits either way.. your having fun..

I believe pitting is caused by more severe rust where it will eat away the steel and leave little pits

Don't use stainless brushes, use only brass, copper, or polymer.

Try using some JB bore cleaning compound. Its like a REALLY fine polishing compound and will help clean it up. Brownells sells it.
