Kida Off Subject But Bore Wear

I Have An Xd 9mm, And Have Fired About 500 Rounds Through It, And Upon Cleaning It Have Noticed There Are Several Scratches In The Barrel. Is This Normal? Will It Have Any Affect On Trajectory?? It Was Cleaned After The First Two Hundred Rounds Which Was The First Time Firing It. And Then Shot Around 300 Rounds Within 2 Days, Then Noticed It, Thanks..

Can you post a picture of the scratches? If not, have a gunsmith check it out.

What is your barrel cleaning process? Are you using brass or stainless steel brushes?

Did you purchase the gun new?

Cleaning Process

Did Purchase The Gun New, Abuot 2 Months Ago, Clean With Brass Brushes, Fired Only Brass, Use Standard Cleaner With Swabs, And Spray Gun Cleaner With Lube For Tight Spots. Upon Further Inspection, The Ramp Has Wear, And The Keyway On The The Slide With A Hole In The Middle Has A Slight Groove Worn In It. What Is Wrong With This Weapon? Or Is It Just Me.. Never Had This Issue On Any Other Gun.. Will Work On Taking Pics This Evening To Share...

I'm assuming that you are referring to the spots I highlighted in red...

If so that doesn't look so much like a scratch as it does build up... Out of the 500 rds has any of it been lead???

No Lead

None Of The Ammo I Fired Was Lead, As Far As Build Up, I Soaked The Barrel For 24 Hours In Clp, So Dont Think Its Build Up, Thinking Of The Last Time I Fired It Though, About 50 Rounds, Was Magtech Ammo, Brass, But Conditions Were Slightly Windy And We Were In A Sand Pit, Never Dropped My Weapon, But Guess In Theory Dust Could Have Gotten In The Barrel And Ground In When I Fired?? I Know Its A Long Shot But Its Possible I Think. Gun Is About 2 Months Old Should I Just Send It Back To Sa?? And Let Them Deal With It

The dirt shouldn't scratch it unless its harder than the steel the barrel is made out of... even if dirt did get in it, it'd just get pushed out... Unless somehow you got a barrel that was made out of some defectively soft steel... Otherwise shoot it and see if its accurate, if its not send it back to springfield for a new barrel... I've got right at 10,000 round through mine with no barrel wear... I should check it for scratches... I'll repost...
