Boy, as much as everyone here claims not to knock other brands and such, some of you are really soaking this one up. I have owned xd before also and I agree they are good guns. But, anyone can tell this isn't the normal I carried this today and pulled it from my holster and it looked like this thread. I am sure if Glock thought this was a normal circumstances flaw they would have fixed it and sent it back in working function. Springfield may have handled this better as they have had to deal with alot of rust issues and it may come more expected from an XD. I'm just saying that for a Glock to be rusted like that it was from total neglect and as some XDers may say " a possible bad finish applied at the factory". I still give it a thumbs up as the guy has already fired rounds thru it and it will look like new again when he puts it back together.

So how much do you have in the gun so far considering any refinishing costs, shipping, parts, and the original purchase price?

Maybe the previous owner is one of those people that just has absolutely noxious, corrosive sweat/body oils. There are people whose sweat will eat through a watchband in a few months. Maybe Glock slipped and that one either didn't get Tenifered or got an incomplete process. Generally speaking, Glock's Tenifer (also used by Walther and Steyr) is the best surface treatment or finish, bar none. The fact that people are shocked by these pictures demonstrates that the case of this gun is the exception which proves the rule. |

I can't believe how naive you guys are...buying this load of crap.
I own both the XD AND the Glock so don't even start with the "trolling" comments I see on both this site and GlockTalk. It is obvious that the picture shown next to the mallet (nice use of backdrop) shows nothing more than a stripped down glock with an obscene amount of WD-40 sprayed over the factory Anti-Seize compund to look like rust. The plastic frame near the muzzle has a rust-looking substance all over it. The recoil spring that was positioned above said plastic frame has no rust on it. And, the pile of parts supposedly sent back from Glock...yeah...right. No one...and I mean NO ONE would send something back like that. Come on people...think for yourselves. One last thing...I love the picture of the "refinished" (wiped down) slide on the frame with his "new" OEM parts...they're the same parts...just wiped down. Jeez...
